Portland, TN - Mr. John Christopher Curry, age 61, of Portland, TN, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 5:22 PM at the TriStar Portland ER in Portland, TN.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory in Franklin, KY. Visitation will continue on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 6:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 5th at 1:00 PM with interment to follow in Restlawn Memory Garden in Simpson County, KY.

Chris was born on January 3, 1964 in Paducah, KY to the late Dr. John Chandler Curry and the late Sue (Corwin) Curry. He is also preceded in death by a nephew, Gunner Keen.

He is survived by his spouse, Terrie Curry; two children, Amanda Curry of Westmoreland, TN and John Cameron Curry (Harley) of White House, TN; his fur baby, Teddy; four grandchildren, Kylie Elizabeth, Roman Farris, Madelyn Curry and John Chandler Curry; two sisters, Lori Susann Thurman (Steve) of Portland, TN and Penny Curry of Franklin, KY; two nieces, Shelby Thurman and Chelsea Boles; a nephew, Cody Keen; and his stepmother, Stella Curry of Franklin, KY.

Chris was a member of the Franklin First United Methodist Church in Franklin, KY. He earned an Associate's Degree in Science. Chris was a retired Sergeant/State Trooper with the Tennessee State Highway Patrol with over 25 years of service. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Chris was interested in guns and the history of the Civil War. He was an avid Ohio State fan and enjoyed anything with wheels.
