Springfield, TN - Roy Gene Pelcher, age 89, passed away in his recliner, as he wished, at his home in Springfield, TN on February 1, 2026. He was born in Gainesville, Texas to the late Jewel Marie Davis.
Roy joined the Navy in 1954 and served as an electrician on submarines and surface craft for 25 years. After retirement from the Navy, he moved back to Tennessee where he worked as a maintenance supervisor at Peterbilt Motor Company in Madison.
Roy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lenora, and children Denise Satterfield, Mona Kelley (Karl), Elizabeth Reed (Gerald), Charna Joiner (Daniel); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. His daughter, Paula and son, Buddy, preceded him in death.
Roy enjoyed stopping at local businesses and visiting with his many friends. And was always on the lookout for "found money." Roy always wore a Navy jacket or hat. People knew him as the "Navy Guy."
Roy was cremated and his ashes will be scattered at his request. A Celebration of Life will be held later.
