Dickson, TN - A Celebration of Life service will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Puppet Ministry.

Wanda "Jeanne" Cook, age 86 of Dickson, passed away on June 7, 2025, at NHC of Dickson after a long battle with Dementia. She was born on August 26, 1938, to the late JW and Oretha Williams in Lynn Grove, KY.

She was happily married to Owen Cook, also of Lynn Grove, KY, for 68 years having wed on August 4, 1956. She was the director of Kiddie Korral until its doors closed and at the urging of multiple people that Dickson needed more childcare facilities. She started the groundwork for a Daycare at First Baptist Church in April of 1988 talking with church leaders and in August of 1988 they opened the doors to full enrollment and a waiting list.

She remained as the Director for many years before retiring. She served in many roles in church over the years. She started the Puppet Ministry at church and directed that for many years. She loved children - her own and everyone else's also.

She is survived by her husband Owen, and their 5 children, David, Dan, Jamie, Tim, and Mark; along with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
