William Thomas Witherow Obituary

Campbellsville, TN - Mr. William Thomas Witherow, 86, died June 10, 2025, at his home.

Mr. Witherow, affectionately known as William Thomas or Willie by those who knew and loved him, was born Nov. 22, 1938. He was raised on a farm in Pulaski with humble beginnings. After leaving the farm and joining the United States Navy, he married the love of his life, Carolyn Hall, and settled down in Sanford, Fla., later moving to Winter Park, Fla. They were married for 62 years. He was a Jack-of-all-trades and in the course of his life worked in several industries including being a part of the Boeing team for the first Lunar Flight that helped put the first man on the moon, landing his name in the Library of Congress. He later worked in the railroad industry, namely Auto Train, and rose from the grease pits to the director of operations, and eventually started his own business, proudly named Witherow Locomotive Service Inc. He owned and operated this business for 28 years before retiring. He was a proud father of three daughters, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He often credited all his blessings in life to his precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whom he served faithfully. He was a member of Sanford, Fla., Church of God of Prophecy for many years, serving in various positions as well as being a deacon there. His life truly came around full circle as he moved back to his hometown of Pulaski in the Campbellsville Community six years ago. There he became reacquainted with many of his childhood friends and joyfully became an active part of Still Waters Cowboy Church of Pulaski. He enjoyed traveling, hunting and fixing tractors at the 4Springs Cattle Farm where he lived with his wife, youngest daughter, son-in-law, grandson and their dog Biscuit. He was loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all. He is preceded in death by parents, Thomas Walter Witherow and Alma Sunshine (Sunny) Witherow; and brother Robert (Buster) Witherow.

Memorial services will be Saturday, June 14, at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home.
